$220,000 Outwork Colt Headlines Wednesday at Keeneland September Yearling Sale

The lively atmosphere at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale continued Wednesday on the ninth day of the auction, which was highlighted by the sale of a colt from the first crop of Outwork to Charles Marquis for $220,000.

Keeneland sold 290 yearlings today for $12,880,500, for an average of $44,416 and a median of $35,000.

Cumulatively, gross sales are $343,173,700 for 1,872 yearlings, for an average of $183,319 and a median of $100,000.

The session-topper is out of the Lookin At Lucky mare Westside Tapstress and from the family of Grade 2 winner Informed and Grade 3 winner Discreet Hero. He was consigned by Warrendale Sales, agent, which led all consignors by gross sales, selling 15 yearlings for $965,000.

A colt by Dialed In from the family of Grade 2 winner Gimme Da Lute sold for $205,000 to Federico Barberini, agent. Consigned by Paramount Sales, agent, he is out of the winning Stormin Fever mare Casino Fever.

R.A. Hill/Oracle Bloodstock, agent, paid $190,000 for a filly by Constitution from the family of Grade 1-placed Silver Swallow. VanMeter-Gentry Sales, agent, consigned the daughter of Samantha Dillon, by Unbridled’s Song.

The session’s leading buyer was Lauren Carlisle, agent, who paid $340,000 for three yearlings.

The September Sale continues through Sunday with all sessions beginning at 10 a.m.
